Liptovsky Mikulas

Liptovsky Mikulas ( A Slovak Mountain Range)- Next week I will be boarding a train at 7:20 in the morning and heading out to Liptovsky, Mikulas to spend a week with crazy 7th and 8th graders. Yes, it is true, I- the non- Slovak- speaking American will be responsible for 20 of the rowdiest kids I have ever taught… and yes it is true… I volunteered to not only chaperone them, but challenge them while on a snowboard in a foreign land with crazy mountain rules. What was I thinking?

You see friends; leave it to Shantra Bolek to sign up for something like this. There are only 2 other chaperones. Folks, I’m asking for your prayers. Many of the students on this trip are hurting, not so much from skiing YET, but from the pains of life. Please join with me in prayer for these guys. Pray for opportunities to arise where the students can realize they are truly cared for. Believe me, loving them is nothing that I can do on my own, but it is because of Christ alone that the love I have for these students exists, and is strong. Please pray that they will recognize their worth does not come from people, but from God alone, who IS Love. They are extremely special even when they try not to be. Some of them come from some difficult home situations. Please pray that this will be a safe time for them on many different levels. Thanks- I’ll keep you posted upon our return.

Shantra: It good to hear you back in the swing of things. Gail and I will pray for a safe and spirit lead trip next week. Know that your heavenly father is well pleased with you.
With Love from the Vitale's,
Frank

A brave woman you are!! I got something like that planned in April, I think. But it's for all of the 6th-8th graders -- like about 150 kids, and overnight! It'll be ridiculous, but we'll have lots of parents helping us 5 teachers out. Anyway, I'll be praying for you. Enjoy Him in snowboarding!! Peace.
