ER

Standing in the hallway just inside of the ambulance entryway my senses are heightened. I smell the body fluid of someone who cannot control them. At the end of the hall a woman is yelling at the nurse who is trying to care for her. Within a matter of 10 minutes I have witnessed a seizure, a bleeding head, and a cute little ol’ lady who just needs to rest. So why am I here?
Since Thursday, mom has been having a very tough time breathing. Gradually her lungs have been filling up with fluid which makes it difficult for her lungs to open. By the time I brought mom into the ER she could hardly catch her breath. They drained 1 ¼ liters of fluid from her, which will allow her lungs to expand. She is currently being held at the hospital. The situation is getting more intense, but mom is in good hands at the hospital. Her nurses and Dr. have been incredible.
