Home

Well, hi guys! I have been home now for just about a week. It has been good. I do have to say that I am a frequent customer of Starbucks now. I have also adapted quite easily into the comforts of a bed with a mattress! The time zone in my head is much different than what my body says, but I sure am able to get a lot done staying up so late. It is good to see family and friends again here in the states. I do miss everyone in Slovakia though. It is fun connecting with students and friends eventhough they are "across the pond." I enjoy your emails and your calls!

People have asked me alot, "What is it like to be home?" What I'm realizing more and more is that "home" is such a relative term. When Christ was here on earth, scriptures say he had no place to lay his head (Matthew 8:20)... He went wherever He was called- or supposed to go. I wonder if "home" for Him was more of a permanent place- in Heaven with His Father.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."

Shantra, it is good to read your blog! It's been a while since I've been on- just skimmed the flight story- CRAZY! What are you doing next year? Did you get that job you were going for? Maybe it's somewhere on the blog- but yikes, it is almost 1 a.m. so I'll read on tomorrow. (I guess it is tomorrow.) I will be teaching at a Christian school this fall- this is the position I was telling you about when we were in Budapest.

I miss watching Lost with you.
