Tough Times

"Be the change you seek in your world" -Ghandi

Honestly, this is a lot easier said than done. Being a million miles away seems even further when you receive bad news.

Yesterday I was informed that a previous co-worker of mine suddenly passed away. She was a young, beautiful, newly married fourth grade teacher at my previous school. I had no idea that our "until next time" would be a true goodbye. This hurts. I hurt for the teachers at TCA, the kiddos, her family, and for all the people she came in contact with. I desire to be with them, walking through this with friends, with her students, and with our fellow teachers. However, reality sets in... I am a million miles away... and in the exact spot I feel God wants me, whether I like it or not.

Whether it is finding out bad news about a friend, being left in the unknown about a loved one, or just plain being tired, I need to keep pressing on... I need to dig deeper into scripture... I need to surrender on my knees... I need to... I need to... I need to...

If I desire to "Be the change I seek in this world" then it means that I change the "Need to..." into "I am"
I am persevering through trials because He is teaching me. I am reading scripture because He is sharpening me. I am praying because he wants to hear my voice. God does allow bad things to happen to good people. It is how we respond to it that is important.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of a dear friend and co-worker. My heart hurts for you and wish I could be there with you. You told me once Shantra, that we might not understand it now, but we will someday....

So my little angel,

"be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9 NLT

Sending lots of love and blessings.

Shantra,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You have been such an encourager to me and I wish I was there to give you the biggest hug in the world.

Keep on perservering! You have been such a blessing in my life and I constantly think and pray for you. You are doing His work and I am just so proud of you. One day I have no doubt you will enter into His Kingdom and hear the words, "well done, my good and faithful servant." I love you girl!
