Top Ten List of Slovakia

Our Flat from the Outside

Second week-Bratislava top 10 list

10. Just eat the watermelons and grape seeds – everyone else does

9. When transporting a vacuum cleaner on the bus - make sure you have multiple people helping otherwise you hit everyone with the handle

8. Don’t be surprised if the kids call you mom – ma’m sounds the same to them

7. Teachers here walk up hill both ways to school but in the wind not the snow

6. Just be careful when singing while looking out the window – you never know who is looking in

5. You know you are in a new place when you get excited when kids curse in English… at least you know what they are saying!

4. Just smile when you realize you are the loudest one on the bus... they already know you are American!

3. Be careful… amonia looks like cleaning solution! Sugar looks like salt... good to know for tea!

2. When you assign homework make sure you specify the paper size (otherwise the homework will be turned in on post-it-note size piece of paper)

And the number one thing that we have learned this week

1. Just because the bus door is open does not mean the bus will not drive away at top speed with you hanging on for your life
